
The Village Community of Foteviken has gained a lot of new members during 2006. Anyone, who is interested in becoming a part of this fine fellowship are welcome to join the village community. More information concerning the village community is available under the switch to the left, labelled "The Villagers".
During 2007 the developing of the unique Viking Reserve will continue. The little town is developing fast. We have now 23 Viking houses in our town.
The school teaching of the Museum of Foteviken have been developed and radically changed the last years. The Viking Reserve, featuring an early medieval Scandinavian town is unique. This is used as an important tool in the school teaching of the museum.

28- July 1 The traditional Viking week and The Halör Viking Market
The
Viking week features a lot of different activities in the Viking Reserve.
As a visitor you will meet a lot of Vikings from many different foreign countries.
The handicraft training courses are available for anyone, who is interested
and not only for Vikings. The training courses usually lasts for two or three
days. In order for a training course to take place, there must be an adequate
number of participants.

29- July 1 The Halör Market at Foteviken
This
is the biggest Viking market arranged in Scandinavia. In 2006 there were more
than 600 Vikings from 15 different countries participated in this event. Many
Vikings arrive already in the beginning of this week. On the market you will
find a lot of genuine, high quality handicraft products. All modern plastic
rubbish is strictly forbidden.
