Fotevikens Museum is an archaeological open-air museum that shows what life might have been like in a town during the late Viking Age - early Middle Ages. In addition to traditional exhibitions, the museum has a reconstructed Viking town with 23 buildings of different character and a Viking ship reconstructed based on an archaeological find in Foteviken
At the Foteviken viking museum, you are taken back to the Viking age and the beginning of the 11th century. Step inside the gates and the Viking village, travel based on findings from the Viking Age and the techniques that were used. Learn more about the Viking Age, Norse mythology and much more as a large part of our history in Northern Europe. Visit the baker's hut, the weaver's hut, the forge, etc. and see how the Vikings refined materials and try different activities for yourself. Outside the village ramparts you will find an activity area for the whole family, such as Viking-era games, archery and ax throwing for children, mini-archaeologist where finds are rewarded with a Viking coin.
